This blog explores the art of judging books by their covers. Although we've always been warned not to do it, covers are meant to be judged. Titles, colours, fonts, and especially artwork are all carefully chosen. Everything is crafted to send a message and tell us a little bit - but not too much - about the story. Covers are a fascinating introduction to the world of the novel, but only if we know how to decode them (and currently, I don't). In this blog, I want to look at the different elements of book covers to really learn the art of judging books by their covers.
